Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has made it clear that the club has never considered any situation in which Kylian Mbappe is not a member of their team at the end of the 2021/22 season when his current contract expires.

Leonardo has complained to Real Madrid about offering a price in the last few days of the transfer window and has broken down the reasons why PSG believes his future is linked to the club.

“We are not happy about Real Madrid’s behavior,” Leonardo told Canal + in France.

“Starting negotiations with one of the world’s best players in the last week of the trade created an atmosphere that we did not like.

“We were clear about our position on this offer. It wasn’t enough, it was less than what we paid. The last promise they talked about never came. You can’t plan a transfer market for 2, 3, or 4 months and then change your plans like that.

“I don’t see Kylian Mbappe going at the end of this season. No one thinks about the future of PSG except Kylian.

“Mbappe’s style represents the difference between inactivity and depth. Kylian’s relationship with PSG is deep. That’s why we can’t think of anything else.

“Mbappe’s represents a lot of things. Not just because he’s French or one of the best players in the world. He has a way of being the one we love and be loved by everyone.”
