Barcelona have set their asking price for Bayern Munich and Manchester United star Ronaldo Araujo at €100m, according to reports in Spain.

The 25-year-old has steadily improved his performance since joining Barcelona’s B team in 2020 and is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in La Liga.

Ronaldo Araujo has played a senior center-back role this season, with teenager Pau Cubarsi becoming a first-team regular, but his long-term future at the Catalan giants has been repeatedly called into question.

Bayern Munich and United have been heavily linked with moves for Araujo, who is out of contract at Barcelona in 2026, although the Uruguayan played down reports of a possible exit in March before reiterating in April that talks over a new contract were going well.

However, speculation that cash-strapped Barcelona could sell Araujo to bolster their squad continues to dominate gossip columns across Europe, with Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, and Raphinha three other players tipped for a summer exit.

Spanish publication SPORT says Barcelona values Araujo at around the €100m mark and their report places Bayern as the favorite to seal the move this summer.

The Bavarians are said to have the financial firepower to offer an “attractive” salary to Araujo, the sale of which could help Barcelona fund the signing of a central midfielder or striker – a two-position manager Xavi would like to improve on.

Barcelona’s openness to a sale follows the huge number of options available to Xavi. The Spaniard, who recently made a U-turn to commit his future to the club, has Cubarsi, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, and Inigo Martinez at his disposal, as well as emerging young center-back Mikayilo Faye, who has been with Barcelona’s B team since joining from Croatia’s Kustosija in June last year.

Eric Garcia will also return to the club after spending a year on loan, giving Barcelona the freedom to approve a sale if they so wish.
