Will Kevin De Bruyne play for Manchester City against Arsenal?

Kevin De Bruyne was with Pep Guardiola every step of the way at Man City. The Belgium international arrived in Manchester in 2015, a year ahead of his manager, and has been integral to every success under Pep Guardiola.

This season was a little different. Kevin De Bruyne suffered a serious hamstring injury during the opening game of City’s Premier League title defense against Burnley in August 2023. He required surgery and was sidelined for five months.

De Bruyne made a big comeback when he scored the equalizer to set up Oscar Bobbo’s stoppage-time winner in a sensational cameo against Newcastle United in January. Remarkably, since resuming first-team action, Kevin De Bruyne has amassed 11 assists in all competitions.

Only Pascal Gross (13), Bukayo Saka, and Mohamed Salah (both 12) have more during the entire season among Premier League players.

He undoubtedly remains as important to Man City as ever, but Pep Guardiola struggled to manage De Bruyne’s minutes immediately before the international break and was not involved in Belgium’s friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and England.

Will Kevin De Bruyne play against Arsenal?

Man City released pictures in the week before the Arsenal game of De Bruyne in training with Jack Grealish, who was similarly absent in England as he builds fitness following his own groin problems.

ESPN reported that De Bruyne was fit to face Arsenal after training with Man City’s under-23s on Tuesday.
