Slovenia vs Portugal Possible Starting lineups for International friendly 2024

Portugal will face Slovenia in an international friendly match in 2024.

Roberto Martinez’s side has yet to experience anything but victory as Portugal boss and will be looking to build momentum as we approach this summer’s Euros. While the A Selecao will face tougher opponents, the trip to Slovenia will serve as a test of courage and help Portugal rotate their squad.

The Iberians beat Sweden 5-2 last time out, while Slovenia drew 2-2 against Malta. Matjaz Keko’s men are preparing for their country’s first European Championship since 2000 and will want to make the most of it. They will want to build momentum as time goes on and defeating Portugal will certainly boost their confidence.

With friendlies against Armenia and Bulgaria coming before the Euro opener against Denmark, Portugal is Slovenia’s biggest test ahead of the tournament itself. Drawn in a group that includes Denmark, England and Serbia, Kek must get his men in the right shape for the challenge.

Portugal haven’t lost a non-competitive match since 2018 and as things stand, they will go into the underdog against Slovenia as favourites. Both sides will likely be eyeing the bigger picture of the night. The Hard Tackle looks at how both sides could line up for the game and their tactics.

Portugal’s possible lineup:

Patricio; Dalot, Pepe, A Silva, Cancelo; Danilo, R Neves, Vitinha; Otavio, Ronaldo, Felix

Slovenia possible lineup:
