Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi Break Sergio Ramos Spanish National Team Record

Barcelona’s youngster Pau Cubarsí continued to etch his name into the history books of Spanish football on Friday night.

The same comes after the stopper made his first-ever appearance for the country’s senior national team.

Spain returned to action a while back, heading to the London Stadium for a friendly against Colombia. When all was said and done, it was the South Americans who came out on the right side of the scoreline, thanks to Daniel Muñoz’s finish on the hour mark for a final 1-0 triumph.

Despite their disappointing defeat as mentioned above, it still marked a special night for one member of the Spanish team, Luis de la Fuente.

With just over 5 minutes left in the English capital, the aforementioned Pau Cubarsí came on from the bench instead of Aymeric Laporte.

In the process, he established himself as the youngest debutant for La Roja.

At just 17 years and two months, the Barcelona sensation replaced the previous record holder, Sergio Ramos, who first took to the pitch in Spanish colors at the age of 18 years and 11 months.
