Argentina vs El Salvador Possible Starting lineups for International friendly 2024

The March international window is here, with Argentina set to play two friendlies in the United States. Their first exhibition of the year will take place against El Salvador on Friday, March 22 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

The world champions have been in impressive form since their World Cup triumph, losing just one game in their last 16 matches, showing the improvement they have made as a team since losing to Saudi Arabia in their opening game.

After Otamendi secured all three points in the last match against Brazil, they achieved an excellent result. Lionel Scolani is sure to make some changes to his squad as he prepares for the Copa America 2024, which starts in mid-June without Lionel Messi.

The El Salvador team is currently going through a tough time as they have not won in 17 matches. There is a lack of faith and trust in the party. David Doniga has a huge task ahead of him to turn around the team’s fortunes. With the CONCACAF World Cup 2026 qualifiers looming in June, they have plenty of time to prepare.

Team news

A hamstring injury ruled out Argentine Captain Lionel Messi, while Palacios and Dybala suffered hip and muscle injuries.

They are likely to stick to their defensive shape in this match to attack on the counter to frustrate the home side.

Argentina’s possible lineup:

Emiliano Martínez; Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, Nicolás Otamendi, Nicolás Tagliafico; Rodrigo De Paul, Enzo Fernández, Alexis Mac Allister; Ángel Di María, Lautaro Martínez/Julián Álvarez, Nicolás González.
