Why is Ronaldo not playing today for Al Nassr vs Al Hazam ?

Cristiano Ronaldo will not play for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League match against Al-Hazm on Thursday.

The Portuguese star is the club’s top scorer this season as they battle for the title with Al Hilal.

Ronaldo has missed several friendly matches due to injury, but that is not the reason for his absence against Al-Hazm.

Why isn’t Cristiano Ronaldo playing for Al Nassr today?

On February 26, reports circulated suggesting that Ronaldo was facing a two-match ban from the Saudi Pro League for making an “obscene gesture” towards Al Shabab fans when they jeered him in their league match last weekend.

The suggestion, according to outlets such as Sky News and The Daily Mail, was that Ronaldo could be suspended as part of an investigation by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.

On 29 February, The Athletic reported that Ronaldo received only a one-match suspension and a fine of 10,000 Saudi riyals ($2,666) payable to the Saudi Football Federation and an additional fine of double that amount payable to Al Shabab. They must also cover the costs of the complaint procedure.

Later that day, PA confirmed the report with a statement that said: “The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation has handed down a one-match ban for Cristiano Ronaldo as well as a 10,000 Saudi riyal fine for the SAFF.” and a fine of SAR 20,000 payable to opposition club Al Shabab FC for “provoking fans” or “inciting fans” under Article 57 of the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission of the Saudi Football Federation.’
