Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has teased fans about a future partnership with Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe after liking an Instagram post.
Mbappe has long been expected to play for Madrid at some point in his career, with the most obvious opportunity coming this summer when his contract at PSG expires.
Le Parisien and ESPN reported last week that Mbappe has made up his mind and will announce his intention to sign for Madrid in the coming days.
Mbappe has agreed to communicate his decision to PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi first and once it is made, but it is currently unclear if anything has been communicated yet. When Foot Mercato reported last month that the Frenchman was heading to Los Blancos, both the player’s camp and PSG were quick to deny such a deal.
While there is still uncertainty over Mbappe’s future, Vinicius has fanned the flames of a potential summer move on social media.
The Brazilian enjoyed a post from Sneaker Shopping suggesting a link-up between Mbappe and Vinicius is on the way next season.
Mbappe’s proposed move to Madrid would technically be a free transfer, although PSG are relaxed about the situation as they could earn up to €80m in loyalty bonuses paid if he leaves this summer.
After opting against activating his one-year contract extension clause last summer, Mbappe has already paid the club €40 million.
In addition, Mbappe is insisting that he will be playing at the Olympics in France this summer, which would seriously disrupt his pre-season campaign at whichever club he is at. Olympic football starts on July 24 and ends on August 10.
