Argentina’s national team schedule for 2024 could have a total of 16 matches with Copa America, World Cup qualifiers and friendlies.
A big Happy New Year to the whole Mundo Albiceleste family. May 2024 bring us what we desire!
2023 brought Argentina many individual awards and 2024 brings the possibility of another trophy. Before reaching the 2024 Copa America in the United States, Argentina could play four games before the tournament.
Argentina will play two friendlies in March, both of which could be in the United States. The two matches were originally said to be against European teams, but this was not finalized.
FIFA has two more dates for friendlies in June between June 3 and June 11, but there is no word on Argentina’s opponents and whether they will play the two matches. The Copa America starts on June 20 and Lionel Scaloni could use the June matches to prepare for the tournament.
Reigning Copa America champions Argentina will play their opening match on June 20 against either Canada or Trinidad and Tobago. After that, we have a match on June 25 against Chile and a third match on June 29 against Peru.
Unlike the World Cup, the Copa America is a six-match tournament, which could mean Argentina could have played six matches in the Copa America. After the Copa America, it’s World Cup qualification.
They will be back in South America and, like in 2023, the team will play two matches in September, two in October and two in November. The first game in September is at home against Chile and the second away against Colombia.
In October, Argentina will play away to Venezuela and the World Cup cycle will be restarted, with the team playing against Bolivia. This time the match against Bolivia will be at home.
In November, Argentina will face Paraguay away and Peru at home in the last game of the year. Argentina could play a total of four friendlies, six Copa America matches and six World Cup qualifiers.
