Morocco vs Tanzania possible lineups, team news and TV Channel for AFCON 2023

Morocco will face Tanzania at the Stade de San Pédro on Wednesday as part of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign.

Morocco are the top African team in the FIFA rankings (13) and are strong favorites for the 2022 FIFA World Cup after finishing fourth. They have only won the AFCON once, that triumph coming in 1976.

In the 2019 AFCON quarter-finals, they faced eventual finalists Egypt, where they lost 2-1. Sofiane Boufal opened the scoring in the seventh minute to give his side the lead, but Egypt recorded a comeback win thanks to Mohamed Salah’s second-half equalizer and Trézéguet’s extra-time winner.

Tanzania is playing in AFCON for only the third time and is back in the tournament after 2019, having failed to qualify in the previous edition. They faced Egypt in a friendly earlier this month, losing 2-0.

Morocco are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions and have recorded four wins, including a 3-1 triumph over Sierra Leone in a friendly last week. Youssef En-Nesyri bagged a brace and Boufal was also on the scoresheet in the first half.

Morocco possible starting lineup:

Bounou; Hakimi, Aguerd, Saiss, Allah; Amrabat, Ziyech, Ounahi, Harit, Adli; En-Nesyri

Tanzania possible starting lineup:

Kamawa; Mnoga, Mwaikenda, Mwamnyeto, Hamad, Yahya; Salum, Mao, Yassin, Msuva; Samatta
