FC Dallas will face Inter Miami in a friendly at the Cotton Bowl on Monday.

Both teams are set to begin their preseason activities ahead of the new Major League Soccer campaign set for February 21. FC Dallas has scheduled friendlies against Inter Miami, OB and AaB before opening the league against SJ Earthquakes on February 25. Spain manager Nico Estévez remains on board despite his side’s dismal 2023 campaign.

The Toros finished seventh in the Western Conference and 14th overall, qualifying for the playoffs, but were eliminated in the first round. FC Dallas is seeking its first MLS Cup since its founding in 1995. Their best finish remains a runner-up finish in 2010. Inter Miami won the previous meeting between the two sides on penalties after a 4-4 draw at full time.

Inter Miami missed the playoffs last season after finishing third from bottom overall (27th). However, following their success in the League Cup, they had a remarkable campaign that saw them qualify for the round of 16 of the CONCACAF Champions League.

The Herons will rely on their star-studded squad led by Lionel Messi to boost their campaign this time around the league. Last season, the former Barcelona stars arrived at Inter Miami when the club’s fortunes were beyond repair. Luis Suárez is the latest marquee player to join the outfit.
