Al-Nassr and Inter Miami face off in a highly anticipated friendly at the Riyadh Season Cup 2024.
Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr will host Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami in the Riyadh Seasons Cup on Thursday, February 1. It will be a mid-season friendly tournament for the SPL and a pre-season tournament for the MLS. Al Nassr are second in the SPL with 46 points from 19 games and are seven points behind leaders Al Hilal.
Inter Miami, on the other hand, ended the 2023 MLS season rather poorly. Their last game against Dallas was their second preseason game before the 2024 campaign. But Miami will look better than that 1-0 loss. It will be a thrilling clash as both Messi and Ronaldo face each other for the last time. The home team is in really good form and it will be very difficult for the visitors to beat them.
Manager Luis Castro will have a full strength squad at his disposal and is likely to go into this game with his strongest XI. Sadio Mane will be unavailable due to the ongoing AFCON.
Miami will be without defenders Franco Negri and Ian Fray, as well as forward Corentin Jean, who are all out long-term with cruciate ligament injuries. Attacking midfielder Facundo Farias was unfortunately the latest to join that list, picking up the same injury earlier this month.
Al-Nassr’s possible starting lineup:
Nawaf Al Aqidi, Sultan Al-Ghannam, Abdullah Al Amri, Aymeric Laporte, Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, Abdullah Al-Khaibari, Otavio, Anderson Talisca, Cristiano Ronaldo, Abdulrahman Ghareeb.
Inter Miami’s predicted lineup:
Drake Callender, DeAndre Yedlin, Tomas Aviles, Serhiy Kryvtsov, Noah Allen, Jordi Alba, Julian Gressel, Sergio Busquets, Gregore, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez.
