Honduras vs Iceland Possible lineups, team news and TV Channel for International Friendly 2024

Iceland fans excited to support their team

Honduras are in action for the first time in 2024 when they take on Iceland in a friendly at the DRV PNK Stadium on Wednesday.

Age Hareide’s men kicked off the new year with a hard-fought victory over Guatemala on Sunday and will be looking to keep the giants moving.

Honduras were left scratching their heads in their last outing when they were beaten on penalties by Mexico in the Nations League quarter-finals in November.

Reinaldo Rueda’s side, who won 2-0 in the first leg, outplayed El Tri in the second leg, going down 2-0 in Mexico City before losing 4-2 on penalties.

Before that, Honduras went four games unbeaten, recording three wins and one draw, while scoring 10 goals and keeping four clean sheets.

Iceland, on the other hand, needed IIsak Snaer Porvaldsson’s second-half strike to secure a 1-0 victory over Guatemala on Sunday.

Hareide’s men had previously lost two games and suffered back-to-back defeats against Slovakia and Portugal in their last two Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Iceland, currently ranked 71st in the latest FIFA world rankings, head into Wednesday’s game looking for back-to-back wins for the first time since beating Lithuania and Latvia in the Baltic Cup in November 2022.

Iceland’s Possible lineup:

H. Valdimarsson; G. Thorarinsson, H. Hermannsson, S. Ingason, V. Pálsson; A. Sigurdsson, J. Guomoundsson, I. Bergmann, J. Thorsteinsson; A. Finnbogasson, W. Willumsson.
