Algeria vs Angola possible lineups, team news and TV Channel for AFCON 2023

Algeria take on Angola at the Stade Bouaké on Monday to open their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign.

Algeria won their second title in 2019 but had a poor run in their title defense in 2021 as they were eliminated from the group stage and finished bottom of the Group E table.

Angola did not qualify for the previous edition and will try to at least qualify for the knockout stage here. They have crashed out of the group stages in their previous three appearances in the competition and will be looking to leave a better account of themselves here.

The 2019 champions go into the opener of their campaign in fine form, having recorded four wins on the trot. They recorded a 4-0 win in a friendly against Burundi earlier this week. Baghdad Bounedjah, Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani, and Mohamed Amoura were on the scoresheet and will continue their form here.

Angola have drawn their last five matches in a row, four of which ended without goals. They faced DR Congo last week in a goalless draw in a friendly and will be looking to build on their defensive form.

Algeria possible starting lineup:

Mandrea; Atal, Bensebaini, Mandi, Ait Nouri; Feghouli, Bentaleb, Bennacer; Chaibi, Mahrez, Slimani

Angola possible starting lineup:

Adilson; Carneiro, Buatu-Mananga, Gaspar, Augusto; Keliano, Cafumana, Ribeiro; Luvumbo, Milson, Dala
