The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in Côte d’Ivoire on 13 January 2024, with Senegal aiming to retain their crown from 2021.

The tournament is expected to be one of the tightest battles in years, with Senegal facing challenges from Nigeria and an improving Morocco in the coming weeks. Mohamed Salah’s Egypt, who boast a record seven titles, are also expected to be among the favourites.

Despite interest in the competition, it comes in the middle of most domestic European seasons and Premier League teams are missing a number of key names for international call-ups.

The main focus of AFCON 2023 is the chance to win a major continental title, but there are also big cash prizes on offer for the parties involved.
