Valencia vs Barcelona possible lineups, team news and TV Channel for La Liga 2023/24

Joao Felix Barcelona

Barcelona must avoid falling further behind in the La Liga title race when they visit Valencia in Spain’s top flight.

The Catalan club were fourth in the table before the final week of games, seven points back at the top after being beaten 4-2 by surprise leaders Girona. Xavi was rested for most of the regulars in the midweek UEFA Champions League game against Royal Antwerp, but Barcelona were beaten 3–2 again, further damaging confidence, despite the game having no competitive bearing on the club’s future.

Barca’s biggest problem at the moment is the poor form of striker Robert Lewandowski, who has just three goals in his last eight league games and a four-match clean sheet in Europe. He scored last time out against Girona but should have done more with his six shots in the eventual defeat.

Valencia are in the midst of a rough patch themselves as their four-game winless run in the league has seen them sit 11th in the table as a shot at European football next season quickly slips through their fingers. They have scored just two goals in those four games and have struggled to create enough chances on net to keep their progress in the top seven.

Team news

Valencia are currently dealing with injuries to Amallah and Almeida, who have back problems and their expected recovery dates are unknown. Injuries to ter Stegen, Alonso and I. Martínez pose a challenge for FC Barcelona, the visiting team. Both teams’ depth is being tested by these injuries, which are affecting key positions as well and creating concerns for their next matches.

Valencia Predicted lineup (4-2-3-1)

Mamardashvili; Thierry, Mosquera, Paulista, Gaya; Pepelu, Guerra; Canos, Lopez, Perez; Hugo Duro

FC Barcelona Predicted lineup (4-3-3)

Inaki Pena; Cancelo, Kounde, Christensen, Balde; Pedri, Oriol Romeu, Fermin; Yamal, Lewandowski, Ferran
