Already one of the most respected players in world football, it’s no wonder that Julian Alvarez is wanted by Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

After winning several trophies while on the books of River Plate, the 23-year-old continued his trophy haul at Man City.

His impressive list of honors are Argentine Primera Division, Copa Argentina, Supercopa Argentina, Trofeo de Campeones, Copa Libertadores, Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament, FIFA World Cup, Copa America and Finalissima.

Under Pep Guardiola, the world is clearly Alvarez’s oyster, although he remains for the most part in backup to Erling Haaland.

Perhaps with that in mind, he sent a definitive message to Spain’s top two teams.

“The truth is I’m very happy at Manchester City,” he said, according to a tweet by reliable CaughtOffside journalist and columnist Fabrizio Romano.

“I’ve been at the club for just over a year now. I’m very happy with everything we’ve achieved. Now our aim is to compete and try to win them again.”

In any case, at the moment, despite their obvious desire for the player, Barcelona would not be able to afford him.
