Brighton vs Marseille Possible Lineups, Team News, TV Channel for UEFA Europa League 2023/24

Roberto De Zerbi will be delighted with his players, who have already shown character to weather the storm at the start of their UEFA Europa League campaign. The Seagulls’ stuttering early form ensured they suffered defeat and a draw at the start of the group stage. And Brighton & Hove Albion can complete the turnaround against Marseille on Thursday.

A brace over Ajax and their last-gasp win against AEK Athens saw them qualify for the next round. For De Zerbi and his men, the coveted first place is still in the game. It is important to note that the latter will play an extra round of play-offs with the team relegated via the Champions League.

De Zerbi would like to avoid those extra games, meaning the Italian will want his players to show character to secure a win over Marseille at the Amex. After a period of stuttering form, Brighton have some momentum on their side. But they will also want to make amends for the demoralizing draw against Burnley in the Premier League. The Seagulls will have no excuses but to get the win at all costs.

Marseille will travel to the Amex but will enter this crucial clash with a slightly different mindset to their hosts. While this is a game neither side will want to lose, the French giants will certainly be fine with a draw as this slim one-point lead will help ease the pressure.

Having been knocked out in each of their last three European campaigns at the group stage, Marseille would be looking to prove a point and they did. Moreover, they remained unbeaten in this group, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s hat-trick against Ajax taking them top and above Brighton.

The Gabonese also helped Marseille secure victory over Lorient at the weekend as they arrive in Brighton in top form. They are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions, winning four, and will be looking to make it five in a row and secure top spot in their group on Thursday.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1):

Probable Lineup (4-4-2):

Lopez; Clauss, Gigot, Mbemba, Lodi; Sarr, Ounahi, Veretout, Harit; Ndiaye, Aubameyang
