The USA will entertain Trinidad and Tobago at Q2 Stadium in the first leg of the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals on Thursday.
The hosts are two-time champions of the competition and will be looking to win the three-peat this time around. They are one of four teams to earn a direct place in the quarter-finals of the competition. The visitors, meanwhile, finished second in Group A of the league.
The home side played four consecutive friendlies from September to October and recorded three wins. In their previous game, Giovanni Reyna’s winner and first-half goals from Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun helped them to a 4-0 win over Ghana.
The visitors suffered their first defeat of the Nations League campaign last time out, losing 5-3 away to Curacao. They have never reached the semi-finals of the Nations League and have their work cut out for them against the reigning champions.
