Cyprus will host Spain in the next round of Euro 2024 qualifiers at the Alphamega Stadium on Thursday.
So far, the home team has not been able to come to life in the European qualification and they have not yet gained a point in their group. They were thumped 4-0 by Georgia in their final group game as the opposition conceded all four goals in a clinical second half as they lost to the Crusaders for the third time in a row.
Spain, meanwhile, have enjoyed a strong start to life under head coach Jose Luis De La Fuentes and have now secured their eighth consecutive appearance at the continental showpiece. They beat Norway 1-0 in their last game, with Barcelona’s Gavi scoring the only goal of the game soon after the restart.
La Roja sit top of their group with 15 points from an achievable 18. With qualification now in the bag, the visitors will be looking to finish the qualifiers on a high and secure top spot in the group.
