Colombia will entertain Uruguay at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez on Thursday (October 12) in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The home side enjoyed an unbeaten start to the qualifying campaign, drawing and winning two matches. Colombia beat Venezuela 1-0 at home in the opening game of their campaign thanks to Rafael Santos Borre’s 46th-minute strike and held Chile to a goalless draw in their next game.
Meanwhile, Uruguay kicked off their campaign with a 3-1 home win over Chile thanks to a challenge from Nicolas de la Cruz and a strike from Federico Valverde. However, in their next match, they fell 2:1 in Ecuador.
Agustín Canobbio broke Uruguay’s deadlock in the 38th minute, but Felix Torres’ brace helped Ecuador complete the comeback.
