Last campaign saw Inter reach their first final since 2010 but were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City. Now in the new term, the Nerazzurri are looking to start a new bid and make it four wins in a row in Serie A.
Simone Inzaghi’s side beat city rivals AC Milan 5-1 in the Derby della Madonnina in the league on Saturday to set themselves up for their European clash.
With 12 points, Inter are at the top of the league table and are the only team with a 100% win rate in the division.
Sociedad, meanwhile, will be making their first Champions League appearance since 2013-14 after finishing fourth in La Liga last season.
La Real can expect a baptism of fire against Inter on their return as they have had a poor start to their campaign. The Basque Country have won just one of their opening four games in the top flight, losing 2-1 to Real Madrid at the weekend.
