Inter Miami sat bottom of the Eastern Conference when MLS action restarted after the League Cup and, after picking up four points from two games since then, remain 14th in the table and level on points with last-place Toronto FC. They are 10 points short of qualifying for the playoffs with 10 games remaining.
LAFC, meanwhile, is second in the Western Conference, well behind St. Louis City SC, however, is still in a great position to make the playoffs if they can keep up the pace.
