Neymar has spoken about Lionel Messi winning the World Cup with Argentina and their time together with Paris Saint-Germain.

Lionel Messi and Neymar are both close friends and have gone from the highest of the best at club level to the lowest in Paris with FC Barcelona. The Brazilian gave an interview to GE Globo and talked about Lionel Messi winning the World Cup with Argentina’s national team. Here is what he had to say:

“I was very happy for the year he had, but at the same time I was very sad because he experienced both sides of the coin. He went to heaven with the Argentine national team, won everything in recent years and lived through hell with Paris. We’ve been through hell, he and I.

“We are angry because we are not there for nothing. We’re there to do our best, to be champions, to try to make history, that’s why we got back together. We gathered to make history. Unfortunately, we did not succeed.

“Messi left (PSG) in a way that he didn’t deserve in terms of football. For everything he is, for everything he does, everyone who knows him knows he’s a guy who trains and fights. If he loses, he gets angry and was, in my opinion, unfairly accused.

“But at the same time I was very happy that he won the World Cup. As you said, football was fair this time because the Brazilian team was eliminated, Messi deserved to end his career like this.”
