The England Young star scored Real’s second goal in the comfortable victory in Bilbao.

England international Jude Bellingham scored on his LaLiga debut as Real Madrid opened the league season with a 2-0 win at Athletic Bilbao.

Bellingham, who joined Real from Borussia Dortmund this summer, scored his side’s second goal eight minutes before half-time.

Rodrygo had opened the scoring nine minutes before and Real were proving to be dominant, with Bellingham at the centre.

The other two LaLiga games on Saturday ended in draws as Real Sociedad were held 1-1 at home by Girona and Real Mallorca earned a point by the same scoreline at Las Palmas.

Takefusa Kubo put Sociedad ahead after just five minutes at the Real Arena, but Artem Dovbyk’s 72nd-minute header ensured a share of the spoils.

Las Palmas went in front after Jonathan Viera’s 29th-minute penalty, but the home side were unable to hold onto that advantage and Antonio Raillo equalized in the second half.

Paris St Germain saw their Ligue 1 campaign get off to a frustrating start as Lorient were held to a 0-0 draw at the Parc des Princes.

Despite creating plenty of chances, PSG were unable to find a way past resilient opposition and will feel it was a two point loss.

Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Marco Verratti, who have all been linked with a move away from Paris, have been left out of the matchday squad by boss Luis Enrique.

And Marseille claimed a comeback victory against Reims at the Stade Velodrome as Vitinha’s 73rd-minute goal secured a 2-1 win after Junya Ito had put Reims ahead and Azzedine Ounahi had equalised.
