Leandro Paredes has joined AS Roma and has already started training.Paredes is back at his old club and is putting pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Roma until June 30, 2025. The 29-year-old joined on a permanent deal from Paris Saint-Germain. The Argentine talked about the return himself. On the official website of AS Roma, he said this:
“Coming back to Roma is always a special thing, but to do it now as a Roma player is even more special.
“I would like to thank the fans for welcoming me and Roma for bringing me back to the club where I started my career in Europe. Last year was incredibly lucky for me with the World Cup, so now I want to keep tasting success and I’m confident I can do that with this team.”
Tiago Pinto, Roma’s general manager of football, also spoke about Paredes:
“As soon as Leandro heard that we were interested, he made it clear that his aim was to return to Rome. His strong will made us even more convinced that we should bring him back to the Giallorossi and we are delighted to see him back in Roma colours.
“He has matured and gained international experience since his first time here, combined with his knowledge of Italian football and his technical qualities, we are sure that all this will prove to be key and strengthen our team.”
He will play alongside Argentina’s World Cup winner Paulo Dybala.
