Neymar informs Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave amid Barcelona link

The possibility of Neymar and Barcelona reuniting this summer has been raised again this summer.

After the Brazilian left for PSG in 2017, the ties that bound him back to the club have continued in almost every transfer window and have now reared their heads again.

According to L’Equipe, Neymar has informed PSG of his desire to leave the Paris club.

After injuries plagued his career in Paris with managerial changes constantly causing instability, Neymar’s willingness to turn over a new leaf is hardly surprising.

However, the biggest reason for his motivation to leave is Barcelona’s growing interest in the player.

It has already been reported that Neymar would ‘love’ to return to Barcelona this summer, the club where he has won several accolades and established himself as one of Europe’s most feared talents.

There has also been thought that the former Santos FC wonder man could be open to taking a pay cut in exchange for a return to his old club.

Although Neymar has left behind a trail of ecstatic memories in Catalonia, Barcelona face an internal dilemma over re-engaging the Brazilian sensation.

Joan Laporta is clearly keen to progress for the player, but Xavi is on the edge at the moment.

Xavi is said to be against the move due to concerns that his presence would cause disruption in the dressing room and a lot of tension off the pitch.

However, Barcelona have not completely ruled out Neymar’s return during the current summer transfer window, despite Xavi’s reluctance. And the ball is in the Catalans’ court.
