Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Julián Álvarez has some discomfort.
Guardiola spoke on Friday and revealed that the 23-year-old is not fully fit and therefore did not play more in their UEFA Super Cup tie against Sevilla. With quotes courtesy of City_Xtra via ManCityMEN, here’s what Guardiola had to say:
“Julián Álvarez had a problem, discomfort, otherwise he would have played [against Sevilla]. He is becoming so important and he only managed to play 15/20 minutes in Greece. An incredible penalty taker. In terms of personality, that’s why he played…”
Álvarez was brought on for the last five minutes of their match against Sevilla on Wednesday and played the entire game against Burlney in the Premier League.
