Los Angeles Galaxy will welcome Leon to the Dignity Health Sports Park in the group stage of the Leagues Cup on Tuesday.
The hosts open the campaign on Tuesday, while Leon played the Vancouver Whitecaps in the campaign’s opening game last week. The two teams squared off at BC Place on Friday, and the regular-time game ended in a 2-2 tie. Leon prevailed in the penalty shootout and won it 16:15.
The LA Galaxy played the Vancouver Whitecaps last Sunday in MLS and suffered a 4-2 away defeat. It was their first defeat in all competitions after six games. They were invited to the League Cup for the third time, having played in the inaugural edition in 2019 and a friendly tournament in 2022.
The visitors won the competition in 2021 and are making their first appearance since then.
