Chelsea want to sign €250 million-rated Kylian Mbappe from PSG

While the odds are in Real Madrid’s favor when it comes to their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, there are other sides who continue to remain in the dark over his signature.

With Mbappe’s fate at PSG sealed, all signs point to him leaving the club this summer, despite his insistence that he wants to see out the remaining year on his contract.

Real Madrid are interested in the 24-year-old and want to complete his signature by the second week of August, but could face some competition from other clubs.

According to COPE journalist Pedro Morata, Chelsea are in the market to sign Mbappe in the current transfer window.

Blues owner Todd Boehly has already called PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to explore the possibility of a transfer.

Chelsea have bolstered their forward line already this summer with the additions of Christopher Nkunka and Nicolas Jackson, both of whom have impressed strongly in pre-season.

But under new ownership, Chelsea have not held back when it comes to their spending in the market and it would be no surprise if they go after Mbappe’s signature with intent.

Kylian Mbappe only wants Real Madrid

PSG are demanding a transfer fee of around € 250 million for their prized asset – something Real Madrid are reluctant to pay but Chelsea could be willing to match the valuation.

While talks between Chelsea and PSG may have begun, any move would require Mbappe to give the final green light.

But the 24-year-old has no intention of signing for any club other than Real Madrid, having already turned down a mammoth €200m deal from Al Hilal.

The longer the status quo lasts, the better for Real Madrid, as it would force PSG to accept a lower fee than their initial demands.

At the same time, however, Los Merengues wish to close the book on their signing ideally before the start of the season in the second week of August. So things could get moving in the coming days.
