The 24th edition of the Under-21 European Championship begins in Romania and Georgia on Wednesday. In addition to the trophy, the tournament will serve as a European qualifier for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Apart from France, the Gli Azzurrini will face two other tough teams in Group D, Norway and Switzerland, which are among the strongest of the four groups. Italy is aiming for its sixth title and first since 2004. It has also been eyeing a return to the men’s Olympic football tournament since 2008.
