Lionel Messi’s father and agent, Jorge, has said his son wants to return to the Camp Nou club.
“Leo wants to return to Barça and I would like him to return. It’s a possibility,” the player’s father told journalist Toni Juanmartí on Monday.
The quote came after the same journalist shared a video of Messi senior arriving for a meeting with Barcelona president Joan Laporta.
Messi’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain has already been confirmed, but a new club is yet to be decided, with the Argentine linked with a move to Saudi Arabia or Inter Miami, as well as a return to Barcelona.
Reports on Monday said LaLiga had finally adopted Barca’s “feasibility plan” for the summer, a road map securing and taking into account the club’s financial future, meaning the club now has the green light to sign new contracts.
With that, a comeback is now truly possible for Messi.
