Real Madrid’s interest in Kylian Mbappé was finally confirmed by club president Florentino Pérez.
The France international appeared set for a move to the Santiago Bernabéu last summer before signing a new three-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
But, filmed speaking to a fan on Saturday, Pérez confirmed that Los Blancos are still interested in a deal for Mbappé… but don’t expect it to happen anytime soon.
Asked if Madrid would sign the 24-year-old, Pérez said: “Yes, but not this year.”
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are already on the verge of confirming the arrival of Borussia Dortmund playmaker Jude Bellingham in a €134m transfer.
