Barcelona are Completed the signing of Manchester City captain İlkay Gündoğan, according to reports in Spain.
Gündoğan is out of contract this summer and has been linked with a number of clubs, including Barcelona, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester City had hoped to convince their captain to sign a new deal but they appear to have lost the battle, with reports claiming on Wednesday that the 32-year-old has decided to move to Barcelona.
He is said to have already undergone a medical and is said to be ready to sign an initial two-year contract with an option for another year.
Gündoğan was Pep Guardiola’s first signing as City manager when he moved from Dortmund to Manchester in the summer of 2016.
The Germany international has won five Premier League titles, four EFL Cups, two FA Cups and lifted the a UEFA Champions League in Istanbul earlier this month as captain.
City have already made a move to replace the midfielder, with reports spreading on Wednesday that they have agreed a £30m deal with Chelsea for Croatia international Mateo Kovačić.
