Korea Republic and Gambia will battle for three points in a 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup Group F fixture on Sunday.
The Koreans draw 2-2 against Honduras on Thursday. David Ruiz opened the scoring in the 22nd minute for Honduras before being sent off five minutes later. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Honduras went into the second half two goals down through Isaac Castillosix. Yong-Hak Kim and Park Seug-Ho scored quick goals to ensure they shared the ground.
Gambia triumphed over France with a 2-1 victory despite conceding a penalty in the second half. Banhie Zoukrou’s own goal in the 13th minute put the Africans ahead, while Wilson Odobert drew France level in the second half. The match winner was scored by Mamin Sanyang in the 68th minute.
The win moved the Young Scorpions to the top of the table with six points and secured a place in the knockout round. The Republic of Korea is in second place, two points behind them.
