Italy U20 and Brazil U20 battle for three points in a 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup Group D fixture on Sunday (May 21).
Italy will be making their eighth appearance at the U20 World Cup. They secured their place in the tournament after reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 European Under-19 Championship.
The Gli Azzurrini have not been in action since a 1-1 draw against Germany in the elite U-20 league in March. Both goals came in the second half, with Armindo Sieb opening Germany’s scoring on the hour mark, while Guiseppe Ambrosino equalized five minutes later.
Brazil, meanwhile, are competing in a record 19th FIFA U-20 World Cup and are aiming for a sixth title at this level. They won the South American Under-20 Championship for the twelfth time to secure a place in the World Cup.
The South American nation were held to a 1-1 draw by Iraq in their last friendly in April. Abul Razaq Qassem opened the scoring with a halftime strike before Kevin equalized on the hour mark.
