Brazil U20 and Dominican Republic U20 will square off at the Estadio Malvinas in a FIFA U20 World Cup fixture on Wednesday.
Both sides started the Group D campaign with one-goal defeats. Brazil lost to Italy 3-2. A rampant entry into the game by the Azzurrini saw them lead by three goals at the break, with Reading midfielder Cesare Casadei scoring and assisting. Santos striker Marcos Leonardo scored a late boost to threaten a Brazilian comeback that never materialised.
The Dominican Republic lost 2-1 against Nigeria in their first match at the U20 World Cup. They went through Edison Azcona in the 23rd minute, but a Guillermo de Peno own goal and a Samson Lawal strike in the 71st minute gave the Flying Eagles a turnaround.
The defeats left Brazil and the Dominican Republic at the bottom of the table in the group.
