Argentina U20 will host Guatemala U20 at the Estadio Unico Madre de Ciudades for a matchday two fixture in Group A of the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup on Tuesday.
The hosts kicked off their tournament with a 2-1 comeback win against Uzbekistan on Saturday. Backed by a capacity crowd, Argentina got off to a poor start when they went behind to Makhamadjonov’s strike in the 23rd minute. Alejo Velize equalized just four minutes later, while Valentin Carboni made it 2-1 four minutes before the break.
Meanwhile, Guatemala lost 1-0 to New Zealand in their opening game. Second-half substitute Norman Garbett scored the game-winning goal with 10 minutes remaining.
Defeat left them at the bottom of the group and yet to get their first points on the board. Argentina lead at the top with three points to their name.
