Ansu Fati’s superb first-half brace fired LaLiga champions Barcelona to victory in their Camp Nou farewell with a 3-0 win over Real Mallorca.
The Blaugrana checked out of their famous stadium in style, with Gavi comfortably winning over their 10-man visitors on Sunday.
In what was their last home game at their iconic ground, ahead of a temporary move to facilitate a lengthy renovation, Xavi’s side made sure to say goodbye.
It also marked an impressive return to form after losses against Real Sociedad and Real Valladolid.
Barca needed less than a minute to open up their visitors, with Fati tucking Gavi’s cross into the box after a neat ball from Robert Lewandowski.
Things soon got worse for Mallorca when Amath Ndiaye saw his yellow card upgraded to red by VAR for a shocking foul on Alejandro Balde.
Fati then doubled his tally with a close-range rocket from Lewandowski’s deft one-touch set-up and Barca never looked like losing control from there.
Mallorca dug their heels in but remained under siege even then, Jules Kounde hitting the bar with a header shortly after the restart.
Lewandowski also crashed a free-kick against the woodwork, but Barca eventually found their third when Gavi headed low past Dominik Greif.
Jordi Albu and Sergio Busquets received a standing ovation in their last home appearances and the Camp Nou crowd rose to salute the club legends.
