Paris Saint-Germain is in the stretch run of its Ligue 1 campaign, and it will return to the Parc des Princes on matchday 35 for a league matchup against AC Ajaccio.
PSG managed to get back on track on Matchday 34 of Ligue 1 as they won 3-1 away to Troyes. PSG certainly needed this win, especially as RC Lens moved into second place in the Ligue 1 table after a 2-1 home win over Olympique de Marseille.
According to Ligue 1’s official website, PSG manager Christophe Galtier could decide to add these 11 players to face AC Ajaccio.
Marco Verratti has been turning his season around recently. The Italian midfielder is coming off a superb performance in PSG’s win over Troyes, where he completed 104 passes and created six goal-scoring chances. In this match, he should take over the central defensive midfielder role for PSG.
The talk of the town around PSG over the past week has centered on whether Messi will start against AC Ajaccio. The Argentina striker has reportedly been banned for two weeks for an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia following PSG’s Ligue 1 home game against Lorient. Galtier confirmed during Friday’s pre-match press conference that the experienced striker will indeed start on Ligue 1 matchday 35 and should slot into one of the two centre-forward spots in the team’s projected 3-5-2 formation.
PSG last faced AC Ajaccio on Matchday 12 of Ligue 1, winning 3-0 away.
