Arsenal travel to Manchester City to try and regain control of the 2022/23 Premier League title race in what could be the biggest meeting so far between the two sides.
Mikel Arteta’s side are five points clear of the Citizens, who have two games in hand. Pep Guardiola’s side have the title in their hands at the moment, but this match could change that.
The Gunners have won three Premier League titles, all under Arsene Wenger, and have 13 league titles to their name. Although the 2003/04 Invincibles have great authority, Pep Guardiola helped write Man City’s name into the history books.
The Sky Blues’ recent record in the competition is incredible, winning four of their last five league titles. Guardiola is aiming to complete a hat-trick of Premier League titles while completing the treble this season.
Man City vs Arsenal history
Man City have faced Arsenal 207 times in their history, with their first meeting coming all the way back in 1893 when the two teams were known as Ardwick and Woolwich Arsenal.
Despite Arsenal winning the first three matchups, Man City had a pretty good record against the Gunners. However Arsenal did improve that record as time went on until 2008, when the Abu Dhabi-backed buyout of City changed their fortune.
Arsenal have won 94 of the 207 meetings and Man City have won 68, with 45 games ending in a draw.
