Everton 1-1 Tottenham: Keane stunner denies Stellini debut win in dramatic battle

Michael Keane’s sensational 90th-minute strike salvaged a 1-1 draw for Everton as Cristian Stellini was denied three points in his first match since stepping into Antonio Conte’s void at Tottenham.

The defender scored a 25-yard screamer to earn a point for the Toffees at Goodison Park on Monday against a Spurs side who otherwise looked set for a win that would move them up to third.

Harry Kane earlier scored from the penalty spot to give Spurs the lead shortly after he was involved in an altercation that saw Abdoulaye Doucoure sent off.

Lucas Moura was also given his marching orders before teeing up Keane to spark tumultuous scenes for Sean Dyche’s men.

In their first game since the 3-3 draw with Southampton that sealed Conte’s fate, Spurs looked set to have a physical first-half battle.

However, they were given a gift when Doucoure lost his cool and shoved Kane in the face for a challenge in the 58th minute, earning himself a red card.

Kane then sent England team-mate Jordan Pickford the wrong way 10 minutes later as Spurs won a penalty for Keane’s foul on Cristiano Romero.

Despite their disadvantage, Everton pressed relentlessly and the numbers were even when Lucas made a hard tackle on Keane.

But the defender dusted himself off to complete his redemption two minutes later, firing into the top right corner to seal a result that lifted the Toffees out of the bottom three.
