Barcelona secure €1.45billion funding for Camp Nou renovation


The ‘Espai Barca’ project, which will encompass the renovation of Camp Nou, now has its funding to the tune of €1.45billion.

Barcelona have finally secured funding to regenerate Camp Nou and the surrounding areas.

The club originally announced plans for the renovation in 2014, but a number of problems since then mean that only a fraction of the work has taken place.

The project now looks set to accelerate rapidly once the season is over, however, with Barca confirming on Monday that 20 investors have made €1.45 billion available.

Barca assured worried fans that “club assets were not used as collateral and the stadium was not mortgaged”, with installments to be paid over five, seven, nine, 20 and 24 years. flexible structure”.

While Barca will play the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign at the Camp Nou, it has already been confirmed that they will move to the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic for next season.

Barca are reportedly hoping to return to Camp Nou at the end of 2024.
