Real Madrid look to maintain Europe’s stranglehold on the FIFA Club World Cup as Los Blancos meet Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal in the final.
The European champions have never reached the final of the tournament and have won each of the last nine editions.
Meanwhile, the only club in the history of the World Cup to buck the European trend comes from Brazil. With Al Hilal advancing to Brazil’s Flamengo in the semi-finals, a win here would make Al Hilal the first team to win the Club World Cup outside of Europe or Brazil.
Real Madrid can be considered weak, with stars Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois missing due to injury, but many other stars will be on the field. They managed to win 4-1 against Egypt’s Al Ahly in the semi-final, but it was a tense moment until two stoppage-time goals broke the deadlock.
