Paris Saint-Germain are in a serious spot of bother in terms of results. The star-studded French side face off against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League in less than a week, but head into the clash having lost their last two league games.

They continue to sit at the top of Ligue 1, but with Paris Saint-Germain it’s a recurring theme. PSG have always struggled with consistency and are the best example in the world of football that just having strong strikers is not enough.

Kylian Mbappe is the crown jewel of the French team, but every year it becomes clearer that his future at the club is uncertain. The player wants a more solid project and it is no surprise that Real Madrid is back in the equation.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Mbappe has a clause in his contract with PSG that allows him to terminate the contract unilaterally in 2024, but still has to notify the club beforehand.

Joining Real Madrid and continuing their promotion in La Liga is the Frenchman’s priority. Los Blancos are in a tough spot with the player’s decision to let them go last summer, but keep the door open.

But the only stipulation was that Meringue was not willing to pay for his arrival.

So the future of Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 could be crucial. The target date is more than a year away, but there is a sense that it is not an unthinkable proposition. After all, Mbappe has always been vocal about his desire to wear the whites of Madrid.

The 24-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided two assists in 19 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG this season. He created 12 big chances and averaged 1.6 key assists per game.
