Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi both scored as PSG saw off a Riyadh XI in a thrilling friendly at the King Fahd International Stadium.

Messi took just three minutes to break the deadlock, running onto Neymar’s through ball before lifting the ball over the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner from inside the area.

Riyadh XI were then awarded a penalty after Ronaldo was brought down in the box by Navas, allowing the striker to level from the spot.

PSG were then reduced to ten men when Juan Bernat saw red after bringing down Salem Aldawsari as the last man.

That disadvantage didn’t seem to matter as Marquinhos restored his advantage moments later, nudging Mbappé’s cross from sixteen yards.

Neymar then got into the game from the spot after Mbappé was fouled in the box, but the Brazilian saw his spot kick.

Ronaldo had the final say in the first half, pulling his side level with one of the last kicks of the half, turning in the rebound from close range after his initial header hit the post.

PSG moved back in front early in the second half, Sergio Ramos headed back after good work from Mbappé on the touchline, but the visitors hit back moments later when Jang Hyun-soo headed in at the near post following a corner.

The Ligue 1 champions were then awarded another penalty for handball in the area, this time it was Mbappé who faced the box from 12 yards.

Messi and Ronaldo both left the pitch just after the hour mark to be replaced by their coaches in what was likely to be the last time they played together on the same pitch.

Hugo Ekitiké made it five after breaking free from a counter-attack before smashing into the top corner to seal the win for PSG before Talisca brought home a consolation with the last kick of the game.
