It was a game to forget for Alisson, after his mistakes contributed to a 2-2 draw for holders Liverpool in the FA Cup against Wolves.
A horror-show performance from Alisson condemned holders Liverpool to an FA Cup third-round replay after they were held 2-2 by Wolves on Saturday.
The Reds keeper was directly at fault for the away side’s set-piece, conceding a soft second as Goncalo Guedes and Hwang Hee-chan netted at Anfield.
Goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah dug Jurgen Klopp’s men out of danger between those Wolves strikes, while Cody Gakpo also impressed on his club debut.
Still, lapses at the back proved costly for the holders and Julen Lopetegui’s visitors will feel they had a chance to win the underdog outright against the holders.
They certainly seized their opportunity in the 26th minute when Alisson fired a routine clearance straight at an unmarked Guedes, the Portuguese international narrowly finishing off the Brazilian.
But Liverpool were still struggling at half-time after Nunez deftly volleyed home a wonderful cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Seven minutes after the break, Gakpo helped give the visitors the lead after Salah finished off his chipped ball, with Tote Gomes’s botched header played past the striker.
It could have been enough for the visitors, but Alisson was again at fault when he managed to smother Hwang’s tame shot at the left post in the 66th minute.
Hwang’s goal sparked a frantic final stretch, with Wolves seeing a third goal flagged by the linesman in the closing stages as neither could ultimately find a winner to avoid having to meet at Molineux down the line.
