Argentina will clash with Australia today at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in the round of 16 of the Qatar 2022 World Cup after a thrilling first half of the tournament for both. Check out the confirmed lineups for these teams.

Lionel Messi, Julián Álvarez and Papu Gómez all start for Argentina vs. Australia in their Round of 16 match.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has announced his starting eleven and it’s Papu Gómez who starts in place of Angel Di Maria. Scaloni has not made any more changes to the team which won 2-0 vs. Poland.

Argentina lineup

Argentina’s head coach Lionel Scaloni made some substitutions from one game to the other, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he modifies the team again. Angel Di María will start on the bench since he left the field vs Poland with a minor issue. Given how well Julian Álvarez played, he will play from the start to relegate Lautaro Martínez to the bench.

Argentina lineup: Emiliano Martínez; Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, Nicolás Otamendi, Marcos Acuña; Rodrigo de Paul, Enzo Fernández, Alexis MacAllister; Alejandro Gomez, Lionel Messi, and Julián Álvarez.

Australia lineup

Australia may not have that many possibilities at their disposal as their rivals do. But the great note for Graham Arnold is that all the starters will be ready to go.

Australia lineup: Mat Ryan; Milos Degenek, Harry Souttar, Kye Rowles, Aziz Behich; Mathew Leckie, Aaron Mooy, Jackson Irvine, Baccus; Riley McGree, and Mitchell Duke.
