No Ronaldo move for Bayern Munich after Man Utd exit, stresses CEO Kahn

Despite his glittering record as one of the game’s greatest players, Bayern Munich will not be tempted by a move for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Free agent Cristiano Ronaldo will not be joining Bayern Munich, says chief executive officer Oliver Kahn, despite acknowledging “we all love” the forward.

Portugal captain Ronaldo will be looking for a new club following his departure from Manchester United, which came less than 18 months after his return to Old Trafford.

With the striker firmly focused on the World Cup, his next moves are not yet known, although that hasn’t stopped him from being linked with a number of top sides around the world.

However, one club he will not be heading to is Bayern, with Kahn repeating that there is no place for Ronaldo in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad.

“We have already dealt with this [speculation],” Kahn told Sky Sport Germany. “We have a clear idea, a clear philosophy of how our staff should be composed.

“We all respect him, no debate. We all love Cristiano Ronaldo, but this is something that doesn’t fit into our image.”

Kahn has played down speculation about Bayern’s alleged long-term interest in England captain Harry Kane, with the Tottenham striker often mentioned as a target.

“Obviously he’s a very good player, but there are a lot of other very good players as well,” Kahn said. “I read it everywhere, Oliver Kahn and Harry Kane.

“We are dealing with many, many players and it is not right to talk about players who have signed with other clubs. We have a very good team who are doing an excellent job at the moment.”

Bayern lead the Bundesliga by four points, ahead of Freiburg, and dominated their Champions League group earlier this season with a perfect record of six wins from six games.
