Manchester City vs Leicester: Possible lineup and confirmed team news for Premier League

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is not yet able to confirm Erling Haaland’s availability to face Leicester this weekend.

Haaland caused an injury scare for City after coming on against Borussia Dortmund in midweek and was pictured limping after the game.

The 22-year-old, who has a remarkable 17 Premier League goals this season, is “improving” according to his manager, but will have to train on Friday afternoon before deciding on the Premier League game.

Guardiola said: “We have training this afternoon and we will assess in a few hours. We will see how he feels, if he is fit and then we will decide. If he is able to play, I will know in two hours.” or not.”

Should Haaland not start or start on the bench, Guardiola confirmed that his summer signing Julian Alvarez would start.

Guardiola added: “If Haaland doesn’t play then Alvarez is the natural first option to replace him.”

Elsewhere, Joao Cancelo is hoping of shaking off an illness to play, while Phil Foden will be pushing to start after coming on as a substitute against Brighton.
